On 23 November at Kyiv city employment centre a series of workshops were launched to enhance capacities of the State Employment Service and its partners’ staff, enabling them to provide services to disabled jobseekers within a new model of their placement and employment. The workshop participants will learn how to apply the new model.
The new model of placement and employment of disabled people has been developed in the framework of a joint UNDP/ILO/SES Project “Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities trough Access to Employment” (SID Project).
These workshops are conducted for staff of the pilot employment centres: Kyiv city and 3 district employments centres - Obolonskiy, Solom’yanskyi and Svyatoshinskyi; Chernigiv region, Chernigiv and Nizhyn city employment centres; as well as for the State Employment Centre of Ukraine and the SEC’s Training Institute.
During these speclialised workshops its participants will deal with various issues, including:
· The model of placement and employment of people with disabilities and its piloting;
· Organization of employment of people with disabilities;
· People with disabilities as clients of the employment centres: social and medical aspects of disability; principles of effective communication;
· Prevention of professional burnout.
In order to improve cooperation between government institutions and NGOs in the sphere of employment of people with disabilities the organisers invited various partners’ of the State Employment Service: representatives from the Labour and Social Protection Departments, Fund of Social Protection of Disabled, Medical and social expert commissions, centres of professional rehabilitation, NGOs uniting people with disabilities and others.
For this purpose the following issues are added to the workshop’s agenda:
· Effective cooperation with government agencies for provision the employment of people with disabilities;
· Collaboration with NGOs on employment of people with disabilities.
