AGRICULTURAL POLICY GROUP
The APHD team has not only provided assistance to the Government of Ukraine in the review and development of efficient agricultural policies (including the preparation of laws and concept notes), but also extensively networked with those in and affected by the agricultural policy domain through focused discussions, informative and timely seminars, conferences and other public events. The APHD’s publications and research papers have been distributed widely among representatives of state authorities, donors, scientific institutions, public organisations, businesses and specialised mass media. Since 2001, the APHD staff members have:
commented on/ initiated/ co-authored 321 draft normative and legal acts of Ukraine;
produced over 300 staff analyses, pieces written to meet a particular request from target beneficiaries;
wrote and distributed 57 research papers and publications featuring in-depth analysis and recommendations, and often used by Ukrainian stakeholders as an important policy tool;
organized/ contributed to almost 110 seminars, conferences and round-table meetings with an average attendance of 6070 individuals.
Many of APHD’s achievements are cross-cutting and go beyond agriculture and rural development. They include, inter alia, civil society empowerment and inclusion into policy formulation process, and development of systematic linkages between agricultural policy and policies in the areas of macroeconomics, foreign trade and others.
